$loMoneyXL: Building It the $lo Way

Los Angeles-based artist $loMoneyXL is carving out a lane that’s as authentic as his name suggests — the slow grind, no shortcuts, real results. His music embodies hustle, purpose, and everyday life, creating sounds that feel lived-in rather than manufactured. “I make real-life music,” he says. “Real hustle. Music that makes sense.”

For $loMoneyXL, music wasn’t something he stumbled upon — it was part of his DNA. He started young, playing drums in church at just seven years old. Watching the drummer, the pianist, the guitarist, and the organist come together to create something powerful gave him an instinctive understanding of rhythm and melody. That early exposure turned into a lifelong connection.

By the time he hit 9th grade, $loMoneyXL began to put his voice into his craft, rapping and experimenting with production. His curiosity led him to FL Studio, where he started making beats for local artists. But soon, he realized his ambitions went beyond production. “Once they showed me what a 16-bar verse was, that’s when my rap career began,” he shares.

Musically, $loMoneyXL draws inspiration from game-changers like Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, and E-40, while vibing with artists such as Larry June, 2 Chainz, and Ginuwine. This blend of influences comes through in his sound — a mix of timeless hustle music and smooth, confident West Coast energy.

Though he hasn’t hit the stage in a while, the pause isn’t a setback — it’s part of a bigger plan. “I’m focused on building a five-year plan,” he says. “Stay tuned. The next time I hit the stage, you’ll be able to buy a ticket.”

When it comes to accomplishments, he’s intentionally patient. “I don’t really have any accomplishments I’m proud of yet,” he admits. “Stay tuned.” That mindset reflects the $loMoneyXL philosophy: steady progress, long-term vision, and purpose-driven moves.

His message to fans? Keep it real and stay engaged. “Don’t be too bougie to like, comment, and share if you really vibe with the music,” he says. “This is $loMoneyXL. I build it the $lo way, not the fast way. Once you tap in, you’re more than a fan — you’re family. Part of the community. Part of the team. We stay patient, stay consistent, and win together till it all makes cents.”
